SHIRAZ

Shiraz is the most popular red wine in Australia and is also our top selling variety.

The Shiraz is named Richard’s Run. It is named after our late son Richard.

Our Richard’s Run Shiraz is handpicked and matured in oak barrels for approximately 18 months. It is a big wine, full bodied, and smooth to drink.

It is a beautiful wine to drink with a roast lamb or a hearty steak, but is also perfect on a cold winter’s evening without food. Numerous repeat sales signify that the wine is popular with our customers.

Alcohol Content: 14.9%

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

We have two different Cabernet Sauvignon’s available. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is named For Evelyn. It is named after our granddaughter Evelyn Ada who was born in the year it was bottled. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is named For Bonnie, after our youngest daughter Bonnie.

Our Cabernet Sauvignon was handpicked and matured in oak barrels for approximately 18 months.

It was picked very ripe and this has resulted in a rich red wine with a very smooth flavour. Cabernet Sauvignon has more complex flavours than Shiraz and this wine will not disappoint. It is an easy drinking wine that is unique to us.

MUSCAT OF ALEXANDRIA

THE 2021 Muscat of Alexandria was picked off vines which been grafted onto Cabernet Sauvignon rootstock. This was during the red grape glut of the 1980’s when red wine was not popular.  These vines were planted in 1969, so are over 50 years old.

We are intrigued by the story that Cleopatra of Egypt is reputed to have drunk Muscat of Alexandria wine. It is considered an ancient variety, originating in Egypt.

2021 is the first time we have made this wine in very limited numbers. It is light, fruity and refreshing and we are very excited for you to try it.
